What this is:
This is a youth club for older young people with additional needs where they can socialise with their peers and participate in a range of practical activities. We run face to face sessions on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month, alternated with online sessions to enable those young people who are more socially or rurally isolated to access the project.
Why we run it:
To enable older young people with additional needs to develop a range of life skills as well as providing them with the opportunity to make new friends and meet up with existing ones. Through engagement with a range of creative and practical activities such as making and putting up shelves, building a compost bin, batik and sewing, participants develop confidence, gain skills, increase independence and improve self-esteem.
Who it’s for:
This session is aimed at young people aged 15-25 with additional needs who want to develop life skills.
When and where it runs:
8:00pm - 9:00pm online through Zoom or Teams on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month
7:00pm - 9:00pm on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month at Fovant Youth Club
