Our Projects

Seeds4Success offers a wide variety of projects for young people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. The projects help young people to develop an array of crucial life skills.

Projects

Tuesday 6:30-9:00pm - Mere Youth Development Centre

A program for people with SEND (Special educational needs/disabilities) that aids socialisation with others in the local community and reduces the struggle of rural isolation. Held at Mere Youth Development Centre from 6:30-9:00pm every Tuesday.

1:1 and group work sessions arranged with young people as required

Building Bridges is a targeted programme for young people aged 15+ who are not in Education, Employment and Training (NEET) or those who are at risk of becoming NEET. Young people benefit from 1:1 support and small group work sessions, focused on developing their confidence, personal and practical skills and enhancing their readiness for work.

Monday 8:00 - 9:30pm - Nadder Centre, Tisbury

A project which inspires healthy and active living through sports and physical activities, fitness opportunities and practical cooking. These sessions run 8-9:30pm on Mondays at the Nadder Centre in Tisbury.

Alternate Saturdays 10:00am - 4:00pm

A social action scheme which introduces conservation techniques to young people through practical volunteering. Participants earn credits based on there work ethic and team work throughout these projects, which later can be used to take part in training courses, other qualifications or trying new activities with peers.

Friday 6:30 - 8:30pm year 7-9, 8:30 - 10:30pm Year 9+. Year 9 can chose which session but not both.

These are relaxed open access sessions which serve as a ‘social’ hub for young people of all backgrounds and abilities to make friends, try new activities and have fun. There’s opportunity to do a range of activities such as: woodwork, cooking, pool, air hockey and in the summer young people can make use of the outdoor recreational facilities close by. 

Summer

National Citizen Service (NCS) is a national program for 15 to 17 year olds which develops understanding and experience of social action whilst enhancing key skills such as communication, co-operation and team work.

Please note that during the summer of 2019 S4S will not running NCS, instead we will be running a new project Local Youth Action Scheme (LYAS) which consists of similar activities and qualifications.

Thursdays 6.30 - 9:00pm at various locations in the local area

This session is an opportunity for young people to become involved in a range of different projects with a set time frame. These could include woodwork, arts and crafts, making items for 'sale' or use in the local community, cooking, outdoor activities or specific projects which are of benefit to others. This enables young people to see and understand how they are contributing to the local community and the charity, experiencing the feeling of helping others and learning about sustainability.

Tuesdays 6:00 - 8:00pm year 6,7,8 & 9

A youth club where young people can take part in a variety of useful and enjoyable activities that, in turn, establishes and progresses transferrable skills. These sessions run every Tuesday at two different venues, Wilton baptist Church and Burcombe village hall 6-8pm for years 6,7,8 & 9

Planning or training sessions on Wednesday or Thursday evenings. Peer led junior session on 2nd Wednesday of the month.

The project that offers leadership opportunities and training within the charity by pursuing assistance in other sessions and attending meetings. Instils responsibility and provides experience for leadership roles later in life.

Twice Monthly. Wednesday or Thursday

An opportunity for young people to voice their opinions on how the charity should be run and to be engaged in various activities such as marketing and publicity, fundraising, planning and evaluation on behalf of the charity.
