Quiet Space & Learning Support (Open Access)

2nd and 4th Thur 5:00pm - 7:00pm @ Mere Youth Centre

These sessions provide a quiet space for individuals or small groups needing time to revise, work on tasks such as homework or applications, or internet based research.  Laptops with access to the Microsoft Office apps are available as well as support with learning or tasks.

What this is:

Sessions for young people who would benefit from a quiet space and resources to enable them to time to revise for assessments, work on tasks such as homework or applications, internet enabled resources, support with their task or a space where they can work collaboratively with friends.

Why we run it:

Young people can live in busy homes where there is no quiet space to concentrate on school, college or other tasks.  Families can lack the resources needed for young people to complete tasks, such as computers or a stable wi-fi connection, or laptops may be shared. It can also be helpful or necessary for young people to get together to discuss and work collaboratively on tasks and a suitable spaces for this can be limited.  Living in a rural area can increase these challenges further as facilities such as libraries are unavailable and transport lacking.

These sessions provide a quiet space for young people to meet with friends and access support and resources.

Who it’s for:

Young people aged 13+

When and where it runs:

The sessions run on two Thursdays a month from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.

Sessions are at at Mere Youth Centre.

Transport can be provided to and from sessions.  Please contact Lee to book.
